The three venue families

Five-star hotels (Chanakyapuri, Aerocity, Central Delhi): everything under one roof — rooms, kitchens, power, valet. You pay for convenience and polish; you give up scale and sky. Ideal for 150–400 guests and families who want zero logistical drama.

Farmhouses (Chattarpur, MG Road, Sainik Farms belt): sprawling lawns, dramatic entries, room for a thousand guests and a fireworks finale. But a farmhouse arrives empty — power, flooring, kitchens, lighting and security are all built. The venue looks cheaper until it isn't; budget for infrastructure.

Heritage and palace-style venues: architecture that does your décor's job. The trade-offs are rules — sound limits, protected structures, curated vendor lists — which a good planner turns into atmosphere rather than frustration.

The questions that actually matter

• What is the real capacity for a seated dinner versus a standing reception?
• What are the sound cut-off times, and are they negotiable?
• What is included — power, generators, furniture, valet, security?
• Can we bring our own caterer and décor team, or is there a panel?
• What is the weather backup, and has it ever been used?
